The large rubber roller on most antique machines can be rock hard, It is advised to have the platen resurfaced if the machine will be used frequently. This greatly enhances the quality of the type, and reduces wear on the typeslugs.

This beautiful 1936 Erika 5 is in great condition. It is cleaned and adjusted, has new feet and a fresh ribbon.
Due to the new and grippy feet, the machine will not scratch your typing surface, and will stay put while typing.
The machine has an Pica typeface (10 (cpi) with a German QWERTZ keyboard layout.
The platen is very hard, and should be resurfaced if the machine is used frequently
