The large rubber roller on most antique machines can be rock hard, It is advised to have the platen resurfaced if the machine will be used frequently. This greatly enhances the quality of the type, and reduces wear on the typeslugs.

This lovely little Sperry-Remington Idool (Manufactured by Silver Reed) is in good condition. The machine has been cleaned and adjusted by a retired typewriter mechanic who has worked in the business for over 50 years. The machine works great and comes with a case.
Due to the new and grippy feet, the machine will not scratch your typing surface, and will stay put while typing.
The platen is hard, and should be resurfaced if the machine is intended for regular use.
The machine has a Dutch QWERTY keyboard layout.
