The large rubber roller on most antique machines can be rock hard, It is advised to have the platen resurfaced if the machine will be used frequently. This greatly enhances the quality of the type, and reduces wear on the typeslugs.

This lovely little Torpedo 10/40 is in great condition. the machine has been cleaned and adjusted by a typewriter mechanic who has worked in the business for over 50 years. The machine works great and comes with a case.
The platen very hard and can be replaced at a cost of €70. This is recommended if the machine is intended for regular use.
Due to the new and grippy feet, the machine will not scratch your typing surface, and will stay put while typing.
The machine has a Techno/Cubic Pica typeface (10 cpi) with a Dutch QWERTY keyboard layout.
